Following mild winters, the apple-and-thorn skeletonizer, Eutromula pariana, can be a serious pest in home orchards. It affects all fruit growing areas of Washington state. Moths lay eggs as new leaves unfold in spring. Emerging pale green larvae are most vulnerable to pesticides. Always read the label before using a pesticide.
